I only had it going once so far, and that is great.
The draw back is that the wheels are so tiny, it’s SO HARD to roll across carpet. At this cost DREO should add better wheels for us old folks.
This is my 3rd purchase of a Dreo air conditioner, this one for a dear friend who has been using an old window unit for years. She came to my house on a hot day and I turned it on and she couldn’t believe how quickly the space cooled and how quiet it is. Also, the fact that there’s no water drainage to manage because of this magical technology is simply the best. Don’t hesitate to get one of these. Stop looking, you’ve found the one.
This air conditioner was advertised as extra quiet, but it’s really not. In general, it’s a little bit quieter than other portable units I’ve used, but it’s always making weird groaning noises, with strange rising and falling pitches. I’m disappointed, but I’m disappointed in most products these days and don’t feel like going through the rigmarole of a return, as the most important thing right now is that it cools the room.
I absolutely love this portable air conditioner. It's got great features and controls and it's extremely effective. Much better than the one it replaced. I use it in the lower level of a split level home. It's usually at least 10 degrees cooler but humidity creeps in . With this one I can just run the dry setting for a few hours and it's comfortable for most of the day. I didn't need a to freeze at 67 degrees to get the humidity down like I did with my old ac. I added a mini pump to carry the water outside because it's so effective it will fill a 1 gallon jug quickly. I love this brand and I'm very much a loyal customer now. Don't sleep on the fans, either. Absolutely silent.
I love the Dreo series; it’s easy to use, has great functions, and works seamlessly with both the app and the remote. It keeps my room very cold with no noise, and the sleep mode is completely silent. While it’s a bit heavy, it’s still easy to move around. I can’t comment on its lifespan yet, but I got it over the summer and it’s still working perfectly in December.
This thing turned my swampy, post-nut-clarity disaster zone of a room into the Arctic Circle in about 8 minutes flat. 45 dB is legit quieter than my GPU fans on idle, so now I can sleep, code, or do… other late-night activities without the usual “jet engine taking off” soundtrack.
No drainage hose nonsense either. It just drinks its own sweat like a responsible adult and keeps chilling. I named it Khaleesi because it’s silent, cold-blooded, and occasionally spits ice when I open the window (dragon mode activated).
App control is dumb good: I roll in from work, tell Alexa “make bedroom 18 °C,” and by the time I kick the door open it’s already colder than my ex’s heart. 24-hour timer means I can schedule it to pre-chill right before I finish my 3 AM debugging sessions. Dehumidifier mode is so strong it sucked the horniness out of the air; my pillows don’t feel like wet sponges anymore.
10/10 would let this beautiful plastic rectangle continue to dominate my room’s climate and my life. If you’re tired of waking up in a puddle that isn’t even fun, buy this. Your balls (and your code) will thank you.
My ac decided to quit the in the beginning of July and that's fun. I couldn't afford a new ac but could definitely afford two window units for my downstairs. I was very surprised at how quickly they work and how easy it was to install. No special tools were required. I live in the south and didnt have to worry about the humidity and drainage with this unit. Cleaning the filter is a breeze too. I do recommend using aluminum foil tape around the duct and window to keep it energy efficient and keep bugs out. I also have a screen on my window I didn't cut out for the duct.
Granted we've only had it a day now so who knows how it'll stand the test of time but so far it's excellent.
It was significantly smaller & lighter than the one it was replacing so I was initially worried it wouldn't cool as well. This was definitely not the case, it cooled out room quickly & well.
It's well made & looks nice. It was very straightforward to get set up, probably the least hassle out of any we've owned.
There is a remote for it, & the app is awesome. It was super easy to pair to the app- it pretty much did everything itself- & you can do/view pretty much anything from the app. The app also has the user manual & maintenance on it, which is a blessing for people like me that lose literally everything.
Works great, very impressed. Hopefully it stays that way. So far would definitely recommend.
This air conditioner blows nice and cold. My apartment doesn't have AC but this has been a great alternative in the hot southern California summer. The unit is kind of heavy but small enough to move from room to room if needed. It gets cold quickly. It definitely uses less energy than a traditional AC and you can always store it in the cooler months when you don't need it. I'm really happy with it!
Ran this AC the entire Summer in PNW and it did the job 🙌🏾 remote is convenient and the app is even more convenient. The buttons on the AC itself are sensitive and simply swiping against it gently can trigger a setting so watch for that. No dripping/leaking, filter is easy to clean. Highly recommend.
This is a great AC. Dreo really builds quality products (I have their fans as well), and importantly, their apps have nice UIs and work very well.
I also had a small issue I needed help on, and customer support has been very helpful.
Love this portable A/C unit. Once you figure out the window set up, the unit works Great.
Remote control works good and the unit has an Auto mode to adjust fan speed and coldness.
This is my favorite thing! Our room is so hot at night so we invested in this! Gives me the best sleep and has so many settings so you can have it exactly how you need! It’s easy to use and not too big, makes the room super cool, definitely recommend getting this!
Energy efficient. Doesn’t take much room. Use in my bedroom where apartment air conditioning doesn’t reach. Easy to set up. Has various ways of setting timers. Phone app, Alexa or remote. Good value. Works with WiFi
We rented a house with upstairs bedrooms that are in a converted attic, only to discover that the venting in the upper floor didn't include A/C. Needless to say, it was sweltering in the upper rooms and unbearable to sleep in the hot midwest summer months. We got this portable A/C unit to help with the upstairs temps, and we have been happy with the results so far. This is easy to set up and comes with everything you need to be able to vent it through a window. I wish the power cord was a bit longer, but that's only because of our particular room arrangement. It's easy to use, and the settings are very flexible to accommodate whatever you need. I also think this is a good value for the price, and I recommend it.
I love this portable ac. I've tried a few different brands in our attic spareroom and none, until now, have been able to keep the room cool. This one is fantastic. The window is a small side slide so a traditional ac won't fit. The window panels were a little wobbly when first setting it up, since I wasn't sure it was going to live in that room for good. But after securing them, they are fine. The ac itself is pretty quiet. I could be on the phone in that room without having to yell or the other person hearing any noise.
Being able to link to Alexa is a huge bonus. I can have turn it on and adjust the temp before going upstairs. You can also use the app to control it. This makes it so easy to use. It's a little heavier than other portables I've used, but not impossible to move around. It is quite expensive, but for everything it does and how well it works, it's a great investment.
I love this product. It cools down my bedroom quickly. Not as quiet as my living room one but I LOVE IT! The price is great. It not as big as my LG and I love that!! Easy to install and no drainage tub when using it as an air conditioner. Best of all you can run it from your phone.
Portable means portable in that it has wheels and doesn't have to balance in a window. However, it's not all that portable in that you have to setup the venting port which requires a LOT of setup. The provided "divider" is a plastic spacer that fits in your window where the vent hose is attached. That means you have to setup your window to lock in place to prevent anyone from using your window to break in, or you will need to assemble and disassemble every time you want to use it. To top it off, it requires a lot of power so it requires care in plugs and a distance to the window.
HOWEVER, the pros are many. My office is very warm and this is a real life saver. The control is digital on both the conditioner and the remote. The conditioner can move the panels up and down to aid in the flow. It really works great to cool and maintain the air temperature. In my opinion, this is much better than the full window units, especially for rental units.
I live in an old house with no ac and summers over 100 degrees. I finally broke down and bought the ac unit. It works well for the small space of my bedroom. The app is easy and convenient to use. There is also the option of a remote. I gave it four stars only because it’s loud when it “switches gears” (I have no clue what its actually doing but it makes a clunk sound when it is trying to maintain a temp once it’s reached). The tube that connects to the window also doesn’t fully click into place and it has fallen off the windows multiple times. Other than that, it definitely keeps my room cool!
